New to the surfing world

Hello. I am new here. I live on Ojai. I want to lean to surf. Should I take lessons and if so does anybody know a good teacher?

Also, when I do start playing in the water, how do I know where all the girls meet up?

I had a group lesson with Patty Beck from paddy bex, and that was great. I've never had a lesson with him, but I've heard good things about Rob at A-frame. (At the end of Santa Claus lane) My surfing seems to have gotten progressively worse, which has led me to not go out in months, so I would be interested in a group lesson if you are. (I also have a 7 year old nephew visiting from AZ who is interested in a lesson as well. Of course he will probably do better than I do which will crush my fragile ego, but what do I need with an ego anyway?)
